The BadFish Guild Portal ("the Portal") is a free, community-run tool for organising The BadFish Armada across the games we play: rosters, events, DKP, loot and recruitment. By logging in, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Portal.

1. Who Can Use the Portal

  • Age: You must be at least 13, or the minimum age required by Discord in your country.
  • Discord account: You sign in with Discord. You are responsible for keeping that account secure.
  • Server membership: You must be a member of The BadFish Armada Discord server. Membership is checked each time you log in.

2. What the Portal Does on Your Behalf

The Portal works with a Discord bot. By using it, you allow the bot to:

  • Give you a game's Discord role when you join that game on the Portal, and remove it when you're taken off that game's roster.
  • Send you a direct message to remind you about an event you signed up for.
  • Post event announcements, recruitment applications and game requests in server channels. These posts include your Discord username.

3. Ranks and Guild Leadership

Each game has its own ranks: Member, Officer and Leader. Site Admins can act across every game. Depending on their rank, leadership can:

  • Create, edit and delete events, record attendance and no-shows, and move people between the roster and the bench.
  • Adjust DKP, award loot, run auctions and apply weekly DKP decay.
  • Approve or deny recruitment applications and game requests.
  • Change your rank, class or role, or remove you from a game's roster or from the Portal.

These decisions belong to guild leadership. Raise disagreements with a Leader or Admin on Discord.

4. DKP and Loot Have No Real-World Value

DKP, bids, wishlists and loot records exist only to organise the guild. They are not currency, can't be bought, sold or exchanged for anything outside the Portal, and may be adjusted, decayed or reset by leadership. Losing DKP, a bid or an item through a bug, outage or leadership decision does not entitle you to compensation.

5. Acceptable Use

Do not:

  • Try to get around login, rank permissions or rate limits, or reach admin features you don't have access to.
  • Manipulate, exploit or falsify attendance, DKP, bids or loot records, including by exploiting bugs. If you find a bug, please report it.
  • Spam sign-ups, applications or game requests, or hold event spots you don't plan to use.
  • Post abusive, hateful or illegal content in any free-text field, such as event descriptions, application messages, wishlist notes or game requests.
  • Overload, scrape, reverse engineer or disrupt the Portal or its API.

Breaking these rules may get you removed from the Portal, and it may also be handled under the Discord server's own rules.

6. Losing Access

If you leave or are removed from The BadFish Armada Discord server, you won't be able to log in again. A session that is already open stays active until it expires (no more than 7 days) or you log out. Leadership can also remove your access at any time.

7. Supporting Development

The Portal is free and has no ads. If you choose to support development through Ko-fi, that is a voluntary tip to the developer. It doesn't buy perks, rank, DKP or priority of any kind. Ko-fi handles all payments under its own terms, and the Portal never sees your payment details.

8. Third Parties and Trademarks

  • The Portal is an independent community project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Discord Inc. or by any game publisher.
  • Game names, artwork and trademarks belong to their owners.
  • Your use of Discord stays subject to Discord's Terms of Service.

9. No Warranty; Limitation of Liability

The Portal is a hobby project provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uptime, accuracy or that data will never be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, guild leadership and the Portal's developers are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the Portal, including lost DKP, loot, event spots or in-game items.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the Portal changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page and announce significant changes in the Discord server. If you keep using the Portal after a change, you accept the new terms.
